Useful Links

Communication

http://www.yha.ekit.com/ekit/home - An excellent place to purchase SIM / phone cards for your travels. I've purchased the SIM card as:

- It works in 130 countries (all bar one of the ones I plan to visit)
-Calls are cheap to receive and make
- Texts are sometimes free to receive and cheap to make
- Voice mail is Free
- It's 'Pay as You Go' so no contract
- You keep one number; no changing phone numbers every time you get to another country

http://www.roughguides.com/ - The home of Rough Guide travel guides

Train Travel within Europe

http://www.seat61.com/ - This website has won loads of awards and is a very useful resource for train travel within Europe.

Train Travel within the UK

http://www.megatrain.com/ - Train fares from as little as a £1!

Accommodation

Budapest, Hungary - http://www.bigfishbudapest.hu/ - An excellent Hostel right in the middle of Budapest. I well recommend staying here if you come to Budapest; there are two dorms of around 12 beds and the internet is free!

Wellington, New Zealand - Down Town YHA in Wellington is one of the best hostels I've stayed in so far with lots of information, friendly staff and great location

Ottawa, Canada - The Backpackers Inn hostel here is cheap, clean and you get a balcony with your dorm. The place has a very friendly atmosphere with free Wi-Fi.
