The biggest disadvantages of travelling on your own are:
1) it can be lonely
2) you have to plan things in advance
3) there is no one to leave any luggage with (this can get very annoying when you need the toilet)
4) Meal times are pretty rubbish; it should be a time of enjoyment but, without someone to talk to it can get pretty lonely.
